The Scarborough-based centre has been running online dance classes since social distancing measures were put in place a month ago.

Principal of the Durham Street-based Julia Hatton said: "This has been a great way for our students to keep up their exercise and some form of a normal structure during this difficult time."

She also contacted one of her past pupils Alexa Jayne Smith, part of the music duo MMS who travel around the world as guest performers on cruise ships, to ask if they could use on her singles for the students to make a music video. The song is called I Don't Your Love.

"Once we secured access to the single we messaged some more of our past pupils who are dancing professionally or are teaching their skills to the next generation and asked them each to choreograph a small routine and teach it to a selection of our show team students online via zoom classes," said Julie.

"Once the students had learned and polished their routines we asked them to film it using a mobile phone and send it to us for the final edit of the video to be made.

"From the music to the video editing and all choreography and dancers, everyone involved in the making of this video has been a member of Hattons School or Performing Arts in Scarborough making this a full #hattonsfamily production," she said.

Every clip in the video was filmed using a camera phone during the Covid-19 lockdown.

All clips were filmed adhering to social distancing measures and then edited together to create this music video.
