Four hundred people attend women’s day celebrations


The event was organised by the Inspiring Women group.
It was held across three venues on The Crescent in Scarborough and offered over 50 different speakers, interactive workshops, networking, business mentoring by Yorkshire in Business and a range of business showcase stands.
The event was the second International Women’s Day event organised by the group in Scarborough with this year successfully increasing in attendance and sponsorship.

Hide AdJenn Crowther, CEO of Yorkshire in Business, said “This year’s global theme is #EachforEqual. We were able to create an event to motivate others and to make International Women’s Day mean something to our town and to each one of us personally.
“Celebrating the success of many local businesses was fantastic with many taking time out of their day to join in the activities”
Margaret Inglesant of Inspire UK said: “We had an amazing day at the event and it more than lived up to our hopes and plans. We’ve had some fabulous feedback already from attendees and there’s been a real buzz on social media about the event, too.
“It was organised by a Volunteer group from Inspiring Women who worked tirelessly to make the event such a success and should be applauded for their time and passion.
