How you can help Roots of Yggdrasil, a Community Interest Company in Scarborough, win a top award
A Scarborough company is hoping for public votes to earn a Yorkshire Choice Award.
Roots of Yggdrasil is a Community Interest Company, which in November won the New Business of the Year award at The Scarborough News’ Excellence in Business Awards.
Named after the Nordic Tree of Life, it provides affordable exercise classes for individuals with pre-existing medical and mental health conditions, as well as exercise classes in rural and deprived areas, around Scarborough, Whitby and Staithes.
Director of health and wellbeing Janette Town, the mother of company founder Simon Town, said: "We aim to get people out of social isolation and work together to build up their own support groups and make new friends. We are so proud to be flying the flag for Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas."
"Scarborough deserves to be in the forefront of these awards as we have such innovative businesses, some of which have also been nominated."
The Yorkshire Choice Awards recognise and raise the awareness of local people and independent businesses that are inspirational in their own way or in the markets they serve.
