Leeds Arms opens after three-week revamp

The Leeds Arms, on St Mary’s Street, has officially reopened following a three-week closure for refurbishment work.

The revamp has kept the character pub’s charm and a great crowd joined in the fun as the Mayor of the Borough, Cllr Hazel Lynskey, formally declared the premises open with a short speech followed by her pulling a pint and cutting the ribbon.

At the event Cllr Lynskey declared: “These premises have traditionally been an important hub within the community and it is great to see that it will continue.”

The new landlord Sarah Nicholson said: “We’ve been here only a short while but myself and husband Tony have been made most welcome.

“We are keen for the pub to remain an important hub in the community, raising money for good causes while looking after our friends and neighbours.”
