Magnificent seven pubs in Good Beer Guide
Seven pubs and three breweries in the Bridlington area have made it into CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2021.
The Old Ship Inn on St John Street, The Pack Horse Inn on Market Place, The Prior John on the Promenade, The Board Inn on the High Street in the Old Town, the Stackhouse Bar on the Promenade, the Marine Bar on North Marine Drive, and the Ship Inn in Sewerby are all mentioned in the annual beer drinkers’ bible.
The local breweries to make the prestigious CAMRA list include Raven Hill Brewery at Kilham, Wold Top Brewery at Wold Newton and Yorkshire Coast Brewery in Bridlington.
This year’s Good Beer Guide warns of the impact that Covid-19 could have on the pub and brewing industry, as the national brewery numbers decline for the first time in nearly two decades.
While breweries and pubs in Yorkshire appear to have weathered the covid storm so far, campaigners fear that ongoing trading restrictions and the threat of localised lockdowns could begin to bite in 2021 – with the trend reversing over the next six months.
Kevin Keaveny, regional director for Yorkshire said: “On behalf of the Yorkshire Region of CAMRA, would like to thank the publicans and breweries who have continued to work so hard to ensure a safe environment is available so that we can enjoy beers and ciders while meeting friends and family.
“Many have shown real innovation to serve the public with takeout and delivery services this year, despite ever changing rules. We look forward to continuing to support our local pubs and breweries in the year to come.”
The Good Beer Guide 2021 is now available from the CAMRA shop at https://shop1.camra.org.uk/product/the-good-beer-guide-2021 and there is an updated app version available for download on both iOS and Android devices.
