North Yorkshire site managers win award for health and safety efforts
Two North Yorkshire site managers have won an award for their commitment to health and safety, in what has been a very challenging year.

Site manager Gary Barker and assistant site manager Terry Palmer from the Linden Homes Northfield Meadows development in Seamer clinched first place in the Best Standard Housing category at the recent Vistry Group Awards virual ceremony.
Business Units within Vistry Homes, who build throughout the country under the brands Bovis Homes, Linden Homes and Vistry Partnerships, were invited to nominate a development to be considered for the SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) award.
The judging team carried out an extensive review of the nominated developments, looking at safety statistics and performance, before a visit from the company’s SHE manager. From detailed assessments, the finalists were then whittled down to three, with Gary and Terry taking the top spot.
Vistry Homes Yorkshire regional managing director Scott Stothard said: “Gary and Terry have adapted to the changes presented by Covid admirably, in the way the site works on a day to day basis and dealing with external suppliers and other contacts.
