Tickets go on sale for NYMR Santa Specials

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is getting ready to run its popular Santa Specials service.

People will be able to hop aboard a heritage steam engine at Pickering Station for a ‘slightly tweaked’ magical Christmas adventure to comply with Covid-19 guidelines.

There’ll be the chance to meet Santa’s helpers and steam along the track to Levisham Station while listening to Jingle Bells FM in a private train compartment.

Tickets are priced at £100 per compartment (for a maximum of four), and £25 per additional adult (maximum six total adult and child).

Trains will depart from Pickering at 9:15am, 11:15am, 13.15pm and 15:15pm on December 5 and 6, 12 and 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24th.

Laura Strangeway, head of marketing at NYMR, said: “We’re so excited to officially be counting down to Christmas. Our Santa Specials are always really magical and we hope that our reimagined Santa experience will be just as good. We’ve had to tweak things to ensure we adhere to Government guidelines but we’re sure NYMR’s Christmas 2020 will be every bit as magical as previous years.”

Due to Covid-19 control measures, and to help the railway maintain capacity, pre-booking is essential.
