Town prospers through investment and business support schemes

Bridlington is one of the many areas that have benefited from a series of improvement projects delivered by Invest East Yorkshire Business Support Services, funded by the United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Since July 2023, the team has handled more than 340 enquiries from retail businesses and delivered targeted support to strengthen local economies, increase footfall and encourage people to shop locally.

Councillor Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader, said: “We are proud to support our high streets, and work closely with businesses and communities to help them thrive.

“ This involves investment and advice, as well as free parking on weekends in the run up to Christmas. This includes on Small Business Saturday, on Saturday, December 6, which serves as a key reminder of the importance of supporting local traders. Together we can build thriving communities across the East Riding.”

Further support for high streets is planned, including business workshops for the retail and hospitality sector.
