York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership (YNYER LEP) is recruiting to both the LEP Board and the Skills and Employability Board.

The YNYER LEP Board helps set the strategic direction of the investment agenda at the LEP by shaping future priorities, developing partnerships and securing investment from both public and private sectors.

New recruits will join the LEP as its geographical footprint shifts – from April 1 2020, the LEP will cover York and North Yorkshire.

The LEP’s Skills and Employability Board aims to bring together local employers and skills providers to pool knowledge on skills and labour needs and tackle local challenges.

The board recently oversaw a Labour Market Analysis of the area, giving a comprehensive breakdown of skills priorities.

David Kerfoot MBE DL, chair of the YNYER LEP Board, said: “The planet, the country and our region, at every level, everywhere you go, we are in a period of significant change.

“We will shortly publish our Local Industrial Strategy and consolidate plans for Devolution for York and North Yorkshire. These plans will drive growth across, increase productivity and ensure businesses and communities across all of York and North Yorkshire are more prosperous.

“We will also be seeking to engage our regional neighbours in powerful and meaningful collaborations to achieve the benefits of a scaled approach to growth. We are seeking local business leaders who can provide challenge and a more diverse perspective to our decision making.”
