Beyond Housing has celebrated the achievements of eleven apprentices at a graduation ceremony held at Sneaton Castle in Whitby.

The event marked a significant milestone for the group, with more than half of the graduates already progressing into permanent roles within the organisation or moving on to further professional training.

The apprentices completed training across a range of disciplines including business administration, housing and property management, bricklaying, finance and electrical.

Six of the graduates have secured full-time roles with Beyond Housing, four are continuing their development through higher-level apprenticeships and one has moved into a career development improver role.

Beyond Housing, which has regional offices in Scarborough and Redcar, manages more than 15,000 homes across the North East and North Yorkshire. Since 2019, the organisation has retained 84 per cent of its apprentices, reflecting its long-term commitment to developing local talent.

Among the graduates was housing and property management apprentice Dan Sleightholme, who said the programme had helped him grow “in confidence, professionally and socially”, particularly in developing communication skills for a customer-facing role.

Fellow apprentice Callum Andrews said being pushed outside his comfort zone had helped him build vital skills, adding that he had received strong support throughout his training.

Business administrator Rosanna Knowles said the apprenticeship gave her the opportunity to learn about different roles within the company, while customer practitioner Joe Collins-May praised the support of his mentor during the programme.

Maria Taylor, apprentice and volunteer team leader at Beyond Housing, said it was a privilege to celebrate the graduates’ hard work and dedication.

“They have all taken valuable steps towards their futures, building strong foundations to launch successful careers from and we are so proud of every apprentice and their journey so far,” she said.
