Bridlington Coastguard team issues ‘thank you’ message
The Bridlington Coastguard team has thanked everyone who has supported it throughout this year in a special message.
The team members said they are proud to serve and we’ll continue to do so ‘whatever the weather and whatever the time of year’.

A spokesperson said: “At Bridlington Coastguard, one thing has never changed: we love helping people. Whether it’s a lost walker on the cliffs, someone in trouble at sea, a welfare concern, or supporting our emergency service partners, our volunteers are always ready to step forward when they’re needed most.
“Our team is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and energy to keep our coastline and community safe.
“They train in all weathers, respond at all hours, and put others first without hesitation. From complex rescues to reassurance and advice, the work they carry out makes a real difference to people on what can often be one of the worst days of their lives.”
Station Officer Jordan Grebby added: “I’m incredibly proud of every single member of the Bridlington team.
“Their professionalism, commitment, and teamwork never fail to impress me. Thank you for the hard work you put in, day in and day out. And a huge thank you to your families as well, your understanding and support make it possible for our volunteers to respond whenever the pager sounds.
“As we approach Christmas and the New Year, we know this time of year can mean very different things to different people. For some, it’s exciting and full of celebration.
"For others, it can be lonely, challenging, or overwhelming. Please know that whatever the season brings, we’re here, ready to help, support, and respond whenever we’re needed.
“This year, we’ve already surpassed our incident numbers, which shows just how many people have needed our assistance along the coast.
"The demand is growing, but so is our determination to be there for our community.”
