Owl-loving Scarborough care home resident’s wish comes true with special Birds of Prey visit

Residents at a Scarborough care home celebrated World Wildlife Day (March 3) with a day dedicated to the wonders of wildlife, beginning with a relaxing morning watching heart-warming documentaries about baby animals.
The day became even more special in the afternoon when Animal House Birds of Prey visited with several magnificent birds. The visit was arranged following a special request from resident Ellen through the home’s Wishing Tree initiative.
Ellen, whose favourite animal is the owl, has filled her room with beautiful owl themed treasures and was thrilled to meet the birds up close. She happily shared her memories of holding a magnificent owl in the past and spoke about the owl rescue charity she has supported.
Seeing the birds again brought back wonderful memories for Ellen, who said: "I just love owls they are such beautiful and gentle creatures. It was so special to see them again and share that moment with everyone."

Residents were delighted to meet the birds, giving them plenty of attention and admiring their beauty. The birds were calm, well behaved, and clearly comfortable meeting their new audience, making the experience enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.
It was a heart-warming afternoon, with residents fully engaged and fascinated by the birds. Seeing Ellen’s excitement and passion made the day even more meaningful.
Overall, it was a fantastic way to celebrate World Wildlife Day, creating lasting memories for residents especially Ellen, whose wish helped make the visit possible
