Pickering café wins regional tourism award

The team at a North Yorkshire farm shop and café are celebrating after their café won a Yorkshire Post Tourism Award.
Pickering’s Cedarbarn Café won the Best Casual Dining category of the annual awards that champion tourism businesses across Yorkshire.
Cedarbarn co-founder, Mandy Avison, said: “The Casual Dining award celebrates informal dining venues that offer excellent food quality, service and atmosphere. We’re over the moon that the work of head chef, Mike, café manager, Louise and their teams have been rewarded with this prestigious award.”
The team at Cedarbarn beat Bundobust, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Elsworth at the Mill and The Old Liquor Store Restaurant & Bar and were presented with the award at a dinner in Leeds this month.
Cedarbarn is home to an 80 seater café, a thriving farm shop and a 600m miniature railway. It evolved from a PYO business based in a caravan that was started in 1995.
