A special guest for Friarage School before it closed due to coronavirus - the Archbishop of York!

Dr John Sentamu was given a tour and led an assembly where he answered children’s questions at Friarage Community Primary School, on Friday March 13.

He revealed he had not visited a school in the town before and was very impressed.

The school sang for the Archbishop and he went on to tell them of the value of listening to each other in life.

Teacher Vicky Hollings said: “The school council were amazed to have met such an influential figure of the church.

“They said goodbye in their respective languages and explained to him that we are the biggest multi-cultural school in Scarborough.”
