Appeal to find homes for heritage objects linked to Bridlington High School For Girls
An appeal has been launched to find homes for various heritage objects linked to Bridlington High School For Girls.
A number of items highlighting the success at the girls’ school were saved from a fire at the headteacher’s office, and now the Old Bridlingtonian Club is hoping former pupils will come forward and collect the various objects, which include trophies and photographs.

A spokesperson from the Old Bridlingtonian Club said: “After the recent fire in the headteacher’s office at Bridlington School, various trophies, pictures and historical items have literally been saved from the ashes.
“The school and the Old Bridlingtonian Club’s heritage officer Martin Barmby have tried unsuccessfully to contact any members of the Old High School for Girls association, to get the items moved to a location where they can be displayed and cherished.

“If they are not claimed, the items will be donated to local museums and archives where they can be researched and enjoyed long into the future.”
The Old Bridlingtonian Club has provided a few photographs to give people an idea of what is in the collection to see if any relatives would like the articles back.
People can contact Sarah Knight via email at [email protected] to arrange a visit to view the items.
Any viewings will be after 3pm, Monday to Friday, in term time – via appointment only.
