Quay Academy rated ‘good’ following Ofsted report
Quay Academy was praised by Ofsted inspectors who have rated the school as ‘good’ in all areas.
Key features of the report praised the school for successfully implementing a well organised curriculum, pupils having impeccable behaviour during lessons, and a good culture of safeguarding.

Hide AdThe inspectors said that the principal and her senior team know the school well, saying ‘the teachers are dedicated and very happy working in the school’.
One teacher said: “Senior staff really care about our health and well-being.”
Comments from the pupils included ‘Every day is exciting’.
In particular, they love music. One pupil said: “The music we do is my favourite. Singing just makes us feel so happy. Music is absolutely amazing, especially the choir.”
Inspector said: “Pupils’ personal development is strong. Many pupils take on responsibilities such as being school councillors.

Hide Ad“They learn about different religions and can take part in music and sports activities after school. Parents and carers say that staff are helpful. They say that any worries they have are quickly dealt with.”
Caroline Broadhead (acting principal) said the report reflects the amazing rapid improvements we have made and sustained since the last inspection in 2017.
She said: “This is the first time in the school’s history that the school has been awarded a good rating by Ofsted and I am thrilled and very proud of every single pupil, staff member and parent involved with Quay Academy.
“We are now excited to begin our journey to outstanding!”
The school recently claimed the DRET Primary Academy of the Year Award.

Hide AdMrs Broadheadsaid: “We are also absolutely delighted to have been awarded the DRET Primary Academy of the Year Award.
“The annual Inspiration awards ceremony takes place each year with the 32 academies across the David Ross Education Trust invited to nominate an academy for one of the prestigious awards.
“Mr Wilson, our music teacher and choir master, was nominated and won the Inspiration Award for Music Teacher of the Year.
“We are very proud of our music department which was also heavily praised within our Ofsted report.”
