Scarborough headteacher ‘privileged’ to be invited to Royal Garden Party
The Principal of Thomas Hinderwell Primary School, Chloe Webster, was delighted to be invited to Buckingham Palace last month.
Mrs Webster was invited to spend the afternoon, with a guest, in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace at a Royal Garden Party, by The Lord Chamberlain of the Royal household.

Garden Parties are an important way for the members of the Royal Family to meet and speak to people who “have made a positive impact in their community”, according to the official Royal website.
Mrs Webster was nominated to attend by someone who wanted to thank her for her contribution to children’s education.

Mrs Webster, accompanied by her mother, arrived at the gates to Buckingham Palace, had her invitation checked by security and then was led through the famous gates into the grounds of the palace.
The King and Queen arrived a little later, along with Princess Anne, Prince Edward, The Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Mrs Webster took tea in the Royal Tea Tent and was able to explore the beautiful palace gardens during the afternoon.
Mrs Chloe Webster, Principal at Thomas Hinderwell Primary School said: “I felt so privileged to be invited to the Royal Garden Party.

“This coincided on the anniversary of the King’s coronation and it was amazing to actually be in their presence in the famous back garden at the Palace.
“I met Princess Anne’s lady in waiting, who was absolutely lovely and congratulated me for receiving an invitation.
“I have really enjoyed telling the children about my trip to London and seeing the King and Queen of England.
“I think some of them thought it was a fictional story for story time, but now they have all seen the photos showing I was actually there!”
