Last week, parents at Our Lady and St Peter Catholic Primary School in Bridlington received a letter to say a small number of children who had been in direct prolonged contact with a confirmed case of the disease would be staying home for 14 days.

As reported previously, some youngsters at Bridlington’s Quay Academy were sent home after a pupil in Year 3 tested positive for Covid-19.

A statement from the academy’s Principal, Caroline Broadhead, said: “In line with the Department for Education and Public Health England’s advice, all children and staff in the bubble affected are now self-isolating and return to school on September 28."
