The school welcomed one its parents, who is part of the Coastguard team, to spend the afternoon with them.

Youngsters had the opportunity to explore climbing equipment, see the stretcher up close, and even try on the Coastguard uniform — which they discovered was very heavy!

A spokesperson for the school said: “We are so grateful to our amazing Coastguard team for the incredible work they do to keep everyone safe.

"We can’t thank them enough for giving up their time to share their knowledge and experiences with us.

“A huge thank you from all the staff and children at Hawsker School.”
