Filey Veterinary Practice, on Station Avenue, announced the news on social media today.

"Despite all of our stringent protocols, we have a positive case of Covid-19 in our team," it said.

"Because we are a public facing workforce, it was only a matter of time before this happened.

"In the interest of client safety, staff safety and to do the right thing – we have made the difficult decision to provide emergency only care for one week.

"This is NOT a track and trace decision but one we have decided on to keep everyone safe.

"There will be a skeleton team at the practice to deliver a drug service, emergency cover and advice.

"We always have been and always will be at the end of the phone."
