Latest Scarborough borough coronavirus infection rate as 5,000 total cases confirmed

The borough passed the milestone last night after 10 new cases pushed the overall total to 5,004.
Scarborough recorded its 4,000th case on December 30. For comparison it took the borough almost seven months to record its first 1,000 cases when the pandemic began in March.

Hide AdGovernment figures also show that 181 people have now died in the borough within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test since March last year. On November 1 the figure was 72.


The borough’s seven day infection rate per 100,000 people in Scarborough remains at 109, the same as yesterday.
