With the so-called Indian variant fast becoming a cause of concern with infections identified across the UK, there are fears the roadmap out of lockdown could be threatened. But the latest figures show 11 of the borough’s 14 wards still saw infection rates remain at 0 - where there have been fewer than three cases - in the latest seven-day period, the first week of May. Now with pubs, cafes and restaurants to open indoors to customers again on May 17, we reveal which neighbourhoods have seen the lowest rate of cases per 100,000 people between May 1 and May 8.
