Before July 3, the last previous confirmed case in Scarborough was on June 23. It means Scarborough’s seven-day infection rate is now 0.
The other areas with a zero infection rate include Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, North and West Devon, the Isle of Wight, and Great Yarmouth in Norfolk.
Earlier this month, Health Secretary Matt Hancock congratulated people in Scarborough and Whitby after only one case of coronavirus was reported in three weeks.

“Will the Secretary of State join me in paying tribute to the people of Scarborough and Whitby not only for so assiduously following the Government guidelines, but for applying liberal quantities of Yorkshire common sense?,” asked Mr Goodwill.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock replied: “Absolutely. They are doing a great job in following the social distancing rules and making sure that they take appropriate precautions, and as a result, the disease has been suppressed in Scarborough."
The historical data also shows that the spike in cases in the borough came on April 26 when 32 new cases were recorded in one day. At that time Scarborough was averaging 13 new cases a week.
