The borough’s seven-day coronavirus infection rate per 100,000 people is now 20, up from its low of 17 last week but down three from yesterday.

Just two weeks ago Scarborough had the eighth highest rate in England when it crept above 50.

The borough is averaging three new cases every day.

Hambleton has the lowest rate in North Yorkshire of just seven while Selby once again has the highest as its rate rose slightly to 52.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
