The borough’s seven-day coronavirus infection rate per 100,000 people is at 23 for the second day in a row, meaning Scarborough is averaging 25 new cases every week.

The national average for England is now at 24.

The average infection rate for North Yorkshire has climbed to 34, in part due to the high rate in the Selby district, which has now reached 115.

Hambleton and Harrogate have the lowest rates in the county at 14.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this weekend for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
