Three year groups at Headlands School, Bridlington, to stay at home due to Covid

Three year groups at an East Coast secondary school have been asked to stay at home because of coronavirus.

All pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11 at Headlands School in Bridlington are self-isolating after cases in the school.

Sarah Bone, Headteacher at Headlands School, said: “We have received confirmation that we have positive cases of coronavirus within the school.

“In line with public health guidance, the affected individuals have now entered self-isolation.

Three more year groups at a Bridlington school are being asked to stay at home.

“We have advised anyone who came into close contact with those individuals to enter self-isolation for 14 days, in line with Government guidance.

“Parents and staff were informed as soon as possible and we will continue to keep them up to date with any further actions."

Meanwhile some of the children from five year groups at Bridlington School who have been off because of the disease are due back at school tomorrow.

All of years 8, 9, 12 and 13, along with 80 students from Year 10 have been self-isolating after several pupils tested positive for coronavirus.

Year 8 students are expected back in school tomorrow.

The Year 10 children and Years 12 and 13 are due back on Monday, and Year 9 on Tuesday.
