Relatives commend Filey care provider rated ‘good’ in all areas by CQC
The health and social care regulator has praised a Filey care provider for its person-centred provision of services.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated JL Care Services at 2 Chapel Street, Filey as ‘good’ in all relevant areas including safety, effectiveness, responsiveness, and leadership.
An inspection last month reviewed the JL Care Services’ provision which covers personal care for adults, people living with dementia or people with a physical disability living in their own homes.
Inspectors said that the care provided was person-centred, kind, and compassionate by staff who were suitably trained.

A report found that appropriate risk assessments were in place, medicines were managed safely and people received their medicines as prescribed, while infection prevention and control measures were also in place.
As part of the inspection, the CQC spoke with people who had experience of the care service as well as the families of those receiving care.
When asked about the service, people’s comments included: “They’re all very good”, “It’s working well and I’m really pleased, I couldn’t have a better situation”, and “I’ve nothing bad to say about them”.
People’s relatives described the person-centred care people received as: “Excellent, really good”.
Another relative said: “I can’t fault them, they’re a treasure”, while a staff member stated: “I enjoy meeting people and getting to know them.”
Overall, the inspectors described the service as “well-managed with appropriate governance systems in place”.
The CQC noted that “action was taken to track and learn from any incidents or identified concerns and people, relatives, and staff knew the registered manager and staff well and were comfortable speaking with them”.
