There are 18 blue plaques in Scarborough town centre. Find out who they celebrate, what they did and where they are
Scarborough and District Civic Society have placed 18 blue plaques around Scarborough to commemorate various notable people.
Poets, authors, actors and musicians are joined by engineers and illustrators and some even have connections to the titanic.
The plaques celebrate figures who have been dead for at least 20 years, or have passed the centenary of their birth.
For the most part they are displayed on the actual building inhabited by the historical figure.
