It was a different time, when tens of thousands flocked to the town every summer, and these 14 things will take you right back to those days.

1. Balmoral Centre

Can you remember the Balmoral Centre being built in town? This photo is from 1974.

The Olympia on the seafront was razed to the ground in 1975, now replaced with an arcade.

If you were old enough to go out for a drink youd be hitting St Nicholas Cocktail Bar, Fiesta Night Club and Penthouse.

You were spoilt for choice for things to do - including the amusements at Scalby Mills which included the famous astroslide.
