Six-year-old Jasper Raven, from Whitby, has kept his promise to have his hair styled into a blue mohican to raise money for the NHS.

The West Cliff Primary School student had been growing his hair so he could look like his WWE idol Jeff Hardy, but, after seeing news reports about the coronavirus, he decided he had to do something to help.

Dad Nayf, of George Street, said the cut went well, but took a while because Jasper hates having his hair cut.

He said: “Jasper is really happy with himself. He wasn’t sure he was even going to get £50 so to get more than halfway to a thousand pounds is amazing.”

Nayf said Jasper is really pleased with his new look and plans, for the time being at least, to keep the vibrant blue mohican.

So far Jasper’s efforts have raised over £550 for the NHS and the family hope this will increase when people see his fabulous new do!
