A firm favourite with its locals on North side, the Newlands on Newlands Park Drive has recently added a tent and a big screen outside to watch sport. A Google review reads: "Scarborough's best locals pub. Great hostess Jo and wonderful staff always make everyone welcome."

The Stumble Inn on Falsgrave is a micro pub known for its selection of real ale and ciders. A Google reviewer wrote: "We've been coming here when in town to visit friends for years now, it's always been a nice place and now with a vastly larger selection of taps, there's a real wealth of beers and ciders to try. The atmosphere is always pleasant and welcoming, the barman talkative and knowledgeable."
