Filey Beach ranked as one of the best in Europe

In a top 25 list of European beaches created by hospitality review website Tripadvisor, Filey’s was named eighteenth.

It even ranked higher than resorts in France, Italy and Ayia Napa.

Andrew Jenkins, Chairman of Filey Tourism and Trade Association, said: “It’s just such a glorious bay.

“There’s five miles of lovely sand that’s ideal for families and most of it is dog-friendly as well.

“I run a guest house in Flixton and the majority of guests go to visit Filey Beach.”

Reviews of Filey Beach on the site included one person saying: “Absolutely gorgeous beach! Could be abroad with this place!

“Very clean, picturesque, easily accessible.”

Another said: “Amazing family trips! The beach is great and the sea isn’t too deep for the little ones to also play.”

Other UK beaches that featured in the list were Bournemouth Beach, Porthminster Beach in Cornwall and Perranporth Beach in Cornwall.
