Instead of the annual group event, this year, because of Covid restrictions, the Scarborough-based charity asked supporters to do their own Sunrise Walks, with family and friends, on a day of their choice during September. Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager, said: “The response we received was amazing, with over 200 people signing up to take part. To raise £20,000 is just incredible. The amount is similar to that raised in previous years, so we were all blown away by the support."

Susan Stephenson said: “A special thank you goes to the Harbour Bar, who continued their long-standing support of the event by offering every participant a free ice cream or drink – which we know all our participants really appreciated!”
