People invited to try adapted cycle scheme on Bridlington’s North Promenade

The All Ride programme, run by the R-evolution charity, is operating from its base near East Riding Leisure Bridlington every Friday between 10am and 3pm until Friday, October 29.

Hanna Moore at R-evolution said: “Our charity takes donated bikes, and trainees and volunteer mechanics do them up to put back in the system. We then give them to people in poverty-stricken areas, or people who are unemployed or homeless, or others who may not have access to a bike.

“The idea of All Ride is to have accessibility for everyone to ride a bike.

“The adapted cycling scheme is for people with mobility issues, disabilities people who don’t have any balance, or have just lost all confidence in biking.

“We have a range of bikes available. We have twin bikes, hand-pedal bikes, bikes that have a wheelchair transporter where a chair is placed on the front and someone sits behind it to pedal, and other cycles.

“The idea is to loan these bikes out free of charge for an hour and people can then cycle up and down the promenade which is a nice, flat route.

“We offer the various bikes to groups and organisations or to individuals.

“It’s all about letting people experience the joys of biking.

“We operate the adapted cycling scheme on Fridays between 10am and 3pm and will be there until Friday, October 29. If anyone has a bike they no longer use they can get in touch with us.”

Anyone who would like to book a specially adapted bike and enjoy a ride along the flat promenade area is invited to get in touch with the R-evolution team.
