Fortunately we live in the biggest, and most beautiful county in the country with plenty of places to explore for a UK holiday without having to navigate quarantines. With the summer holiday’s coming up we’re spoilt for choice with outdoor destinations to get the kids outdoors in nature. Plus for a more grown up experience, the county’s cities offer fantastic nights out, fine dining and cultural experiences. We live in a town that people flock to from all over the country but if it’s our turn to be tourists, we’ve put together this list of spots which all make wonderful destinations for a getaway. Whether you want to stay close to home at explore further up the coast, or head inland for city break or to explore the countryside, Yorkshire has everything we could want.
5. Harrogate
Harrogate is known for its little tearooms and cafes which spill out onto the pavements. As well as its food and drink scene, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing break with the Turkish Baths in the city centre.
6. Whitby
You don’t have to go far from Scarborough to find yourself in a beautiful setting. With its gothic heritage, Whitby has plenty of culture to discover and a host of restaurants by the harbour to choose from.
7. Ilkley
Ilkley is surrounded by Ilkley Moor which has panoramic views of the countryside and easy access to walks. The elegant spa town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is also home to one of the UK’s only remaining Lidos.
8. Sheffield
The steel city really does have it all with museums, sport, music and shopping scenes as well as being on the doorstep to the Peak District for outdoor exploration. A destination for family trips and short breaks alike.
