Air Ambulance called out to elderly woman with ankle injury near Beck Hole

Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue team were called to help an elderly woman in the valley above Beck Hole, near Whitby.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance were first on the scene to reports of an elderly woman in severe pain with an ankle injury in the valley above Beck Hole.

The mountain rescue team were alerted at 2.38pm yesterday to help with removing the woman from the scene.

The decision was taken to transport her by road ambulance and the team carried her about 1km to the ambulance where she was taken to hospital.
