Appeal after shop window smashed in Scarborough

A Scarborough shop owner arrived at work to find a large glass window had been smashed overnight causing more than £1,000 worth of damage.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information in relation to some criminal damage caused to shop window that occurred in Victoria Road.

The incident took place between midnight and 1.30am on Tuesday 8 May 2018. A shop owner has arrived to open his shop to find that a large glass window had been smashed over night. The window is valued at more than £1,000.

A police spokesperson said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the suspect.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Paul O’Neill. You can also email paul.o’neill"
