Armed police swoop on Scarborough street after reports of man with gun

Armed police swarmed in Scarborough yesterday after reports of a man walking down a street holding a gun.

Armed police were deployed after reports of a man with a gun in Scarborough yesterday.

Officers were called just after 4.30pm and attended a property on Albion Road where they found a BB gun.

A man was arrested and taken into police custody.

He remains in police custody this morning.

The road was closed as a precaution while officers dealt with the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident should call police via 101.
