Army bomb disposal unit attend address in Scarborough after World War Two shell found

The army's bomb disposal unit was called to Scarborough yesterday after a World War Two shell was found.

North Yorkshire Police received a call at 12.50pm after the shell was discovered in a property on Victoria Street in Scarborough.

Officers from the force attended the scene and called in the bomb disposal unit.

The army unit established that the shell was inactive and contained no explosives.

They then removed it from the scene.
