Brewery garden open to public for weekend
A popular Yellow Book garden that is home to an award-winning brewery is opening for charity on Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 June.
The opening of the Wold Newton garden, Hunmanby Grange, coincides with the annual open weekend for Wold Top Brewery.
For £4 visitors will be able to tour the garden that Gill Mellor has created despite its exposure to the elements and a challenging soil.
A new addition for the 2016 opening is the water feature that was a showpiece of the Welcome to Yorkshire award winning 2015 Chelsea garden, ‘Brewer’s Yard’.
Visitors to the brewery will also see where and how the award-winning ales are made.
Brewery owner and trained horticulturalist Gill Mellor said: “We’re delighted to support the work of the NGS for the 22nd consecutive year and to share our piece of a Chelsea show garden. Visitors will also be able to see the stunning location that clients of our wedding and events venue, Muddy Souls Events, benefit from.”
The gardens and the brewery will be open between 11am and 5pm and proceeds from the entry money will go via the NGS to charity. St Cuthbert’s church in Burton Fleming will benefit from the proceeds from teas and coffees.
