The team received a call from Humber Coastguard at 12.22pm on New Year's Day.
They located the casualty within Little Thornwick on the cliff face.
Due to their location rescue helicopter 912 was requested for a possible extraction whilst rope rescue equipment was also set up and a cliff technician was ready to descend had the rescue helicopter not been available.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
The cliff technician lowered down the cliff to assist the helicopter winchman who then extracted the casualty to the top of the cliff and handed over to the paramedics.
