Car destroyed in blaze near Scarborough

Flames have destroyed a car after an electrical fault caused a fire near Scarborough.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 9.33pm last night (Thursday April 19) where a Mini Cooper was alight in Tofta Road, in Staintondale.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said: " The vehicle was 95% fire damaged and the cause was believed to of been an electrical fault."
