CCTV issued after charity box theft

Police in Scarborough have now issued CCTV images of a man they want to talk to after a charity box was stolen from a shop in the town last month.

At about 7.45pm on Thursday 18 February, a man entered Sainsbury's on Falsgrave Road, and cut a rope tying a charity box to the customer service desk near the exit of the store. He then placed the box in a black rucksack and left the store.

The man is described as white and around 60 years old. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a black flat cap, black jacket, blue jeans and brown shoes.

The man pictured on CCTV may have important information that could assist this investigation. Officers are urging anyone who recognises him to contact the police.
