Coastguard and helicopter rescue man from cliff at Flamborough

A man had to be rescued by coastguards and a helicopter after getting stuck on top of a cliff at Flamborough yesterday (Monday June 25).

Bridlington Coastguard's rescue team was alerted just after 12.30pm to reports of a man on top of Green Stacks who was unable to climb down.

The coastguard team requested the assistance of the helicopter which winched the casualty to safety.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "This rescue comes after an extremely busy weekend for HM Coastguard after figures released showed the third busiest day of the year was recorded this week for our coastguards.
