Crash on A171 blocks the road outside Scarborough Rugby Club
Police were called to two crashes on the Yorkshire Coast yesterday.
Officers shut the A171 between Scarborough and Burniston yesterday evening after an accident blocked the road just past the rugby club.
Drivers were urged to use the A165 Burniston Road until the route was reopened at around 9.20pm.
Earlier, at around 3.30pm, police and firefighters were called to another crash on the A165 between Bridlington and Speeton.
The accident happened north of Bridlington in an area called North Dale near to the crossroads of the A165 and Grindale Road.
Road closures were in place to allow emergency services to help and investigate.
