The team were also selected to perform at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Evian Music Festival and as part of an Arts festival in Lausanne.

“They really have put Scarborough firmly on the ‘Musical Map’.”

Emmie has hosted many prestigious performances and is said to go “way beyond and above the call of duty on a daily basis. She deserves recognition for being immense”.

Votes are needed to give those behind the town’s uniformed groups, such as cadets and scouts, and individuals and groups who have taken on a personal challenge the recognition they deserve. The deadline for nominations is Thursday March 17 and the award ceremony will be held at the Spa Complex on Tuesday April 19. Nominate online at www.scarborough.gov.uk/boroughsbigthankyou
