Dog killed in collision with motorcycle on Scarborough's South Bay beach

A dog died in a collision with a motorcycle on South Bay beach in Scarborough.

North Yorkshire Police were contacted at 2.30pm on Saturday February 15 by a member of the public who was walking her dog on South Bay beach in Scarborough.

A spokesman for the force said: "She reported two scrambler type motorcycles coming onto the beach, one of them then colliding with her dog. Sadly the dog was killed in the collision."

Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing.

Police say a 29-year-old man has come forward and made contact with them, after seeing a post on social media, who believes he may be the rider involved.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
