Dog walker attacked in attempted dog theft in Pickering

Dog walkers are being advised to be vigilant by police after a walker was attacked in an attempted dog theft.

Ryedale Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog walker was attacked and injured whilst out walking their dog.

An unknown man approached the dog owner and attempted to snatch the dog from them. During the incident the dog owner sustained some minor injuries.

The incident occurred on Pluntrain Dale Lane, Pickering at around 7.15pm yesterday evening.

Police were called to the scene yesterday evening.
