Driver who was 'drifting' his car also had no insurance, Scarborough police discover

Police seized this car after they saw the driver "drifting" it around a Scarborough roundabout and discovered he had no insurance.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group stopped the blue Ford yesterday and gave him a Section 59 warning for his drift driving.

They then seized the vehicle when they found out he was not insured.

Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, with loss of traction, while maintaining control and driving the car through a corner.

The team also arrested the driver of a grey Vauxhall in Scarborough yesterday on suspicion of speeding and drug driving.

The driver had failed a drug test, testing positive for cocaine.
