Humberside Rural Task Force officer wins national award
A Humberside Rural Task Force officer has landed a prestigious national award.
Police Constable Richard Fussey was crowned ‘Wildlife Crime Officer of the Year’ at the 36th Annual Wildlife Crime Conference hosted by the National Wildlife Crime Unit.

A Humberside Police spokesperson, via Facebook, said: “From meticulous investigations leading to seven prolific hare coursers being convicted, to gathering intelligence on cross-border poaching suspects, disrupting criminal activity, ensuring our area is a hostile place for offenders to operate in, even making an appearance in a brand-new BBC series… and everything in between… it’s no surprise PC Richard Fussey has received such a prestigious award.
“Beyond enforcement, Richard is passionate about raising awareness of wildlife crime.
“He regularly attends Farm Watch events in his own time, engaging with the public to build trust and encourage reporting.
“His outreach extends to schools, where he participates in Mini Police programmes, educating young people on the importance of protecting wildlife and the environment.
“Congratulations Richard!”
